for your homestead

  • Animals

Our collection of farm animals is steadily growing and we now have a dog, kitten, ducks and 2 baby miniature goats! We haven’t had many issues with our animals yet but have used to water to help a couple of ducks recover after paralysis ticks, a drake with and limp wing recover in a couple of days from drinking ionised water after having a bad wing for a few months and to help a sunspot/skin cancer on our dogs nose. Through our research we've also come across many people who've had great success using ionised water with their animals.

From farms to racecourses, people are realising the benefits of having this water readily available.

Here's a great website talking about studies that have been done with poultry and cows:

Having water that can heal various ailments flowing freely in your home can save you lots on vet bills and prescription medications for your animals.

In this interview you'll hear about how ionised water is being used with racehorses:

As we are located in an area surrounded by national parks, we've recently registered with WIRES Wildlife Rescue and are working towards rehabilitating wildlife.

Using ionised water in our care will be a game changer, as the chemicals currently recommended for cleaning care equipment are highly toxic but necessary to prevent the spread of disease.

  • cleaning

I get quite excited about this topic, especially as a homemaker with 10 years experience in the high-end cleaning industry. The reason for my enthusiasm is that I’ve replaced most of my cleaning products with ionised water!

One of my favourites is the strong alkaline water because of its emulsifying properties, which make removing grime much easier. It leaves no residue, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning off any leftover chemicals. My go-to cleaner used to be Gumption, which works well but leaves a white powder if not rinsed thoroughly. Now, I use strong alkaline water to clean my bathroom, kitchen, and walls. It’s not only more effective but also quicker to use than Gumption!

Another fantastic option is mildly acidic (beauty) water. This water cleans mirrors and windows better than Windex and can also be used on floors and benches, leaving them shiny and spotless.

Here are some of our cleaning experiments.

Lastly, there’s strong acidic water. Thanks to its sterilising properties, this water is excellent for disinfecting. When sprayed on areas cleaned with strong alkaline water, it helps maintain the cleanliness.

Here are some articles about strong acidic water, also known as super oxidised water or electrolysed reduced water, which contains hypochlorous acid (HOCl):

  • cooking

Ionised water offers a wide range of benefits in the kitchen. Use it to remove chemicals from fruits and vegetables, soak beans and legumes, eliminate bacteria from meat while tenderising it, speed up sprouting, and much more!

In addition to these uses, we love incorporating ionised water in cooking. It helps to extract minerals from ingredients, enhancing the flavour and nutritional value of meals. Plus, it can even reduce cooking time, making meal prep faster and more efficient.
